Sheikh Al Sudais Banned Political Slogans During Hajj

Sheikh Al Sudais has called for a ban on political slogans during Hajj to maintain the peace of the holy place.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, Imam of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, announced a ban on raising Palestinian and other political slogans during Hajj 2024.

In his recent Friday sermon, Sheikh Al-Sudais emphasized the importance of maintaining the sanctity and peace of the House of Allah, ensuring that worship remains undisturbed.

Addressing the ongoing concerns and emotional responses related to the Gaza situation, he acknowledged that the issue has been a subject of many Friday sermons and congregational Duas, especially during Ramadan, for over 40 years.

Despite this, he stressed that the Haramain must remain a place of worship and Dhikr (remembrance of Allah) without turning into a platform for political protests.

Sheikh Al-Sudais underscored the basic rule that raising voices in the holy mosques for reasons other than the remembrance of Allah is strictly prohibited. He called for understanding and adherence to this principle to prevent chaos and preserve the spiritual environment of these sacred places.
