Senior Quality Assurance Engineer


Summary of Position

SIGMA Assessment Systems is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to help us develop and manage the QA process for our next-generation assessment platform for administering high stakes psychometric/psychological testing to support organizations with selection, placement, planning and development decisions.  

The ideal candidate is well-versed in manual and automated QA workflows and has substantial experience developing QA processes and strategies. Our platform requires QA coverage across our frontend and backend platforms and thus you should be experienced in full-stack technology.

You will be working closely with a related business and our agency partner over several phases of the project, with our Product Manager and growing development team. This is an exciting opportunity as this team is newly forming – become a founding member of our development team and help shape it!

Your initial focus will be on developing our QA workflows: Develop comprehensive software test plans and execute manual testing for UI, functionality, performance, and workflows. You’ll lead documentation for test cases and create test scripts for automated testing.
 

Key Responsibilities of Position

The successful candidate will:

  • Oversee the entire QA lifecycle from test planning to execution for our assessment platform ensuring high-quality software releases
  • Integrate QA measures into the Agile development process
  • Implement and maintain manual and automated testing workflows and continuous integration processes using relevant software
  • Plan and maintain regression testing workflows
  • Execute testing and track defects using our development management tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and our external agency to identify and resolve quality issues
  • Champion continuous improvements in the QA processes and methodologies
 

The successful candidate possesses knowledge and interest in:

  • Tools for manual testing: Browserstack, Postman/Swagger, GitLab etc.
  • Tools for automated testing: Playwright, Selenium, Cypress etc.
  • Ticket tracking and documentation tools such as Jira, Notion, and Wrike, and internal communication platforms like Slack and Teams
  • Python / Django
  • React / JSX / JavaScript
  • PostgreSQL
  • Azure
  • Github
  • Linux
  • HTML / CSS / Web-responsive framework

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field, or combination of equivalent training and experience
  • Five or more years of experience in QA, preferably in an industry where a high degree of precision is required. (Banking, Testing etc...)
  • Two or more years in a Senior QA position
  • Full-stack development experience
  • Proven track record of managing test planning, design, execution across full-stack
  • Organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-development skills to keep current
  • English proficiency, written and oral

Hours and Compensation

This is a full-time permanent position with the expectation of 37.5 hours per week. SIGMA offers competitive salaries, vacation time with additional time off the last week of December for the holiday season, a health spending reimbursement account, and flexible working hours to all employees.
